The A3P 101 seminar has two primary components: awareness discussion, and fundamental physical self-defense and escape. The discussion, which is highly interactive, is designed to raise the participants awareness to the dangers they will most likely be confronted with, so that they can be avoided. The self-defense portion is designed to equip participants with extremely simple but effective tools to escape from a physical attack, should avoidance be unavailable.
There are several strengths to our A3P 101 program.
Improving self-awareness, not fighting skill, is the primary goal of the seminar. When one knows what the signs of danger are, he or she can avoid those dangers altogether, which is the best form of self-defense.
The program is highly interactive instead of lecture-based. Being interactive encourages participants to consider the implications of awareness and self-defense more carefully. This makes the topics of discussion more personal, meaningful, and long lasting.
Participants need not be particularly athletic, strong, flexible, intelligent, or outgoing. The concepts are common sense, and the techniques rely on simple gross motor skills.
Unlike the typical martial arts style which spend days or weeks teaching the peculiarities of their basic movements, and next to no practical self-defense knowledge, A3P 101 imparts a great deal of useful knowledge and technique immediately. Participants leave with greater awareness, confidence, and practical skill than with almost any other type of training.
Parks, streets, and even our homes are all too often ripe environments for robberies, muggings, assaults, stalkings, date rapes, and other violent crimes. To compound these problems, individuals are often unaware or unconcerned about basic ways to protect themselves. Our A3P program is an unintimidating and effective method for quickly improving the security and well being of the individual, friends, and family as a whole regardless of age.
